Xplor Global HR Track
I created a very successful HR track for this years global. Johnna Torsone, Chief Human Resource Officer of Pitney Bowes delivered the keynote at 8 am. One thing we learned is to NOT to put our keynote/headliner at 8 a.m., as the lure of South Beach apparently precludes early risers. The rest of the sessions that day were very successful.
Rob Quadracci, Director of HR, Ellen Lewis, VP of Strategic Talent Acquisition, Jeff Deming, Vice President of Everything of Group 1 Software, Pitney Bowes, and Wes Frieson, General Manager of Portland General Electric rounded out the slate of presenters.
I would like to personally and publicly thank all of these fine people for coming down and presenting their expertise for free to Xplor. All of your sessions were rated excellent by the attendees I spoke with. Thank you.
Oh, as far as Jeff as VP of Everything, it is almost true. Since I placed Jeff at Group 1 in 1996 he not only has risen on the corporate ladder, but has also become a close personal friend. He and I did a session in the afternoon about deploying Career Management in the Enterprise based on our successful deployment and follow up at Group 1 Software. Not only was this nearly sold out, it was deemed one of the most educational, valuable and humorous sessions in all of Xplor Global by Jeff and I. We had so much fun that we decided if you can afford us, we will come to your company, provide career management to your employees, and train management on how to use it to motivate and RETAIN your most valuable assets. It is simple based on the theory management is not psychic. Once you know what the employee needs, you can then provide it. Contact me if you are interested.
Finally, if you werent at Xplor Global you missed a LOT of education and training. We hope to see you there next year. Save the date, March 1st to 4th. Miami Convention Center.
Have a GREAT month!

Never Make a Bad Hire Again
Ken Leslie, President of SSC, presented a fool-proof technique on conducting the perfect interview during one of his sessions of the HR Track. With over 12 years recruiting in the electronic document industry, Ken has developed a strong process to quickly weed through the weak candidates, screen the strong ones, and interview and hire the elite. This PERFECT interview is comprised of 7 key elements.
Plan and Prepare
Extensive and Exhaustive Interviews
Rate and Rank
Failsafe Winning Interview Process
Examine Deeply
Check ALL References
Track the Results
One of the points that Ken made in his presentation is that "the biggest single reason bad hires are made is because youve never been trained on how to interview for success. So we hire from the gut, not facts."
Indeed, many of you may be able to relate to this. Instead of guessing, why don't we make it a failsafe probability based on fact?
Ken laid out a very thorough process on how to plan and prepare and deliver a fool proof interview process that will weed out the week, and hire the best of the best.
If you would like to have your staff trained on this GUARANTEED to be successful process, contact Ken.
