1 Introduces New Version of DOC1
Customer Communications Management Suite
Unparalleled
Integration Extends DOC1's Market Leadership Position
Lanham,
MD; January 08, 2003 - Group
1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF)
today announced the release of DOC1 4.3, the new version of its customer
communications management suite. The DOC1 suite is an integrated,
end-to-end solution for managing both printed and electronic customer
communications. DOC1 enables businesses to control the entire document
lifecycle, from content design, generation, and presentment to archive,
retrieval and electronic payment.
The
DOC1 suite now features a tightly integrated document repository shared
by its archive and retrieval component, DOC1 Archive, and its online
presentment and payment components, DOC1 Present and DOC1 Pay. With this
centralized repository, businesses can manage both printed and
Web-enabled documents in a single system. As a result, customer service
representatives (CSRs), customers and internal users have faster access
to communications while dramatically reducing storage, processing and
maintenance costs. Additionally, CSRs can handle inquiries more
efficiently by working within a single application that lets them
quickly view an exact replica of a customer's bill or statement, whether
it was mailed or presented on the Web.
The centralized repository seamlessly compresses, stores and retrieves
documents generated by DOC1, letting businesses deploy electronic
statement, electronic bill payment, and call center productivity
applications with large enterprise-class scalability and performance.
For businesses using other document composition technologies, DOC1 4.3
provides the ability to import those documents and utilize the new
document repository, extending the benefits of DOC1's archive,
retrieval, presentment and payment solutions to more companies.
Furthermore, with DOC1's modular design, customers have the flexibility
to phase in any of these applications as their business needs evolve -
with no interruption to existing business processes.
"It was very important to us that DOC1 offered a single, central
repository for storing customer bills," said Alberto Campos,
information technology director at COMCEL. "The central repository
lets over 800 CSRs access customer documents through our intranet and
within hours of a billing cycle provides thousands of customers Web
access to their bills. The online presentment capabilities of the
integrated suite enabled us to leverage our existing core composition
technology, dramatically reduce storage and distributions costs, and
rapidly deploy an online presentment system within a week. We achieved a
return on investment while providing exceptional customer service.”
“With a centralized document repository that provides access for
thousands of concurrent users, businesses can provide timely customer
care over the phone and via the Web,” said Garth Landers, research
analyst at Gartner. “Organizations that can use a single solution to
support CSRs and customers in parallel will also benefit from a lower
total cost of ownership.”
DOC1 now also stores a wider variety of output formats in its document
repository, with the addition of HTML, PostScript and Metacode support.
DOC1 4.3 additionally offers expanded support for high-volume, full
color printers recently introduced by industry leaders including Xerox,
IBM and Heidelberg. With these enhanced output options, the growing
number of businesses using personalized, on-demand printing for customer
acquisition and retention campaigns can now more easily take advantage
of the power of DOC1.
“This latest release of the DOC1 suite can help businesses redefine
how they communicate with their customers today, while providing a
technology platform that can be leveraged for future growth,” said
Alan Slater, president of Group 1's DOC1 Division. “The DOC1 suite
continues to be the solution of choice for businesses looking for a
single vendor to meet the customer communications needs of call center,
marketing and IT departments.”
